Houston Rockets edge Atlanta Hawks 100-96 in State Farm Arena

The Atlanta Hawks fought valiantly but De’Andre Hunter’s three point shot in the final seconds did not fall. Jalen Green’s Houston Rockets walked out of State Farm Arena with the 100-96 victory. Green led all scorers with 25 points.

Dillon Brooks and Amen Thompson each finished with 11 points for the Rockets, who followed-up their victory in Boston on Monday with their fourth straight win.

Meanwhile, Trae Young had 21 points and nine assists for Atlanta. However, with the loss, it is Atlanta’s sixth straight defeat.

During the fourth quarter, the Rockets’ Dillon Brooks and Trae Young were involved in a skirmish. Crew Chief Jacyn Goble doled double technicals to both players. Goble was asked why double technicals were handed out if Young was the recipient of a hostile act.

“Young was seen instigating the altercation by first, bumping Brooks as he was walking by him,” Goble said. “He then closes space with his head and contacts Brooks’ face while talking to Brooks who reacts by grabbing the back of Young’s head. This is why double technical fouls were assessed at replay.”

“Nah. I didn’t get an explanation,” Young said of the incident. “They told our coaches that I head butted him.”
