‘He cracked me. But he didn’t break me’
R. Kelly’s family is still dealing with the fallout from his legal troubles and the damning allegations highlighted in Lifetime’s “Surviving R. Kelly” docu-series.
The embattled singer’s ex-wife, Andrea “Drea” Kelly, and his three children, Buku, Kyd and Jaah, are set to appear on WeTV’s “Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta,” which premieres next month.
The family’s story line will focus on their move back to Atlanta amid the ongoing drama with Kelly’s child support battle and aggravated criminal sexual abuse case.
“As soon as I get a level of normalcy, (there is) some headline,” Drea says in a trailer released Wednesday, before Kelly’s mugshot from his February arrest is flashed onscreen.

She continues: “He cracked me. But he didn’t break me.”
In another scene, Drea breaks down in tears while talking to daughter Joann Kelly, who goes by the stage name Buku Abi. The 20-year-old singer is attempting to step out of her father’s shadow, but says the ordeal “is going to affect me forever.”
“I don’t know what it’s like to be R. Kelly’s child,” Drea sympathizes. “I only know what it’s like to be his ex-wife.”

The reality show features another musician who is also making headlines: Bow Wow. The rapper was arrested in February and charged with battery following a fight with former girlfriend Kiyomi Leslie.
He maintains his innocence in the trailer, saying, “I didn’t do (expletive)” as he prepares for his day in court.
Other cast members include rapper Waka Flaka and wife Tammy Rivera, Da Brat, Jermaine Dupri’s daughter Shaniah Mauldin and Eazy E’s daughter ReeMarkable.
“Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta” premieres on June 13th.
