Atlanta’s cast, along with a Marriage Boot Camp couple – reality blurred
The cast of WE tv’s Growing up Hip Hop: Atlanta has added four people, including Drea Kelly, who’s publicly discussed the abuse she suffered from her ex-husband R. Kelly, including on the Lifetime documentary series Surviving R. Kelly that aired earlier this year.
Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta season three will air sometime this summer, and WE tv says “this season is all about truth. Uncovering it. Hiding it. Fighting for it.”
The show began as a documentary series focusing on the kids of hip-hop artists. In season two, it abandoned that format, adding America’s Best Dance Crew judge and hip-hop artist Lil Mama to the cast, along with Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood‘s Masika, and Bow Wow’s girlfriend Kiyomi.
This summer, it’s adding two cast members who’ve had their own WE tv special, and appeared on Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition.
The other cast members joining the show this season are:
- T-Boz (Tionne Watkins), one of the members of TLC, along with
- rapper Waka Flocka, who previously appeared on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta and Marriage Boot Camp with his wife,
- singer Tammy Rivera.

Waka Flocka and Tammy Rivera’s relationship and marriage are the subject of a two-part special, Waka & Tammy Tie the Knot, which airs tonight, March 21, and next Thursday, March 28, at 8 p.m. ET on WE tv. The network says “the couple is ready to walk down the aisle again to say their I Do’s but rumors, temptations and meddling family threaten to derail their future.”
WE tv released this preview of season three of Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta:
Andrea Kelly previously appeared on all three seasons of VH1’s Hollywood Exes, which aired from 2012 to 2014.
Earlier this year, her powerful account of R. Kelly’s abuse was a central part of Lifetime’s documentary series.
“You don’t even believe in your own sense of judgement after a while,” she said at one point. “If I can just get him back to the good guy, the one that I fell in love with, then I’m in a good space. How do I stop it?”
She also spoke on The View last fall about the abuse she was subjected to during her 13-year marriage, which produced three kids:
