Things to do during Black History Month

Each February, Black History Month honors the history, achievements and culture of Black Americans. Around Atlanta, there are a variety of activities to do throughout the month in celebration:

• Attend the Dekalb County Public Library’s family-friendly Black History Month event series.

• Visit Roswell’s month-long Roswell Roots festival in celebration of Black history and culture.

• Take a trip to the African-American Panoramic Experience (APEX) Museum, Atlanta’s oldest Black history museum, and the National Center for Civil and Human Rights.

• Shop from 100+ Black-owned businesses at the Atlanta Black Expo.

• Enjoy the Black History Month programming at the Children’s Museum of Atlanta.
