The Atlanta Hawks have a busy week of home games and road games before the NBA’s annual All-Star break. It was also a busy trade deadline for Atlanta as two major pieces of the team’s core were traded on Thursday.

The Hawks traded forward De’Andre Hunter to the first-place Cleveland Cavalier in exchange for guard Caris LeVert, forward Georges Niang, and three second-round picks. Los Angeles Clippers traded forward Terance Mann, guard Bones Hyland, and three second-round picks to Atlanta for Hawks guard guard Bogan Bogdanovic.

At shoot around on Friday morning, center Onyeka Okongwu and forward Dyson Daniels spoke to the media about the loss of Hunter and Bigdanovic. Both Daniels and Okongwu referred to the former Hawks as “brothers” and said that they would miss them on and off the court.

“I wish them luck. They’ll always be my guys,” Okongwu said.

Daniels added that he was looking forward to meeting some of the newest Hawks, and he didn’t have to wait long as Niang and LeVert were seen getting a tour of the practice facility minutes later.

The Hawks are hosting Milwaukee tonight before heading out on a three-game road swing at Washington on Saturday, Orlando on Monday, and at Madison Square Garden against the New York Knicks on Wednesday, Feb. 12.
