Bravo TV will ‘inspire the black community’ with its brand new reality show

Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard will “inspire the black community and the viewers”, according to reality star Bria Fleming.

The brand new Bravo TV show sees a group of 12 black entrepreneurs and professionals head off on a luxury island getaway, with summer flings and extravagant beach parties promising plenty of drama.

Bria Fleming, a model and entrepreneur who appears on the series, said it’s “very important” for the show to focus on young black professionals.

Speaking to The Mirror, she said: “Bravo have always showcased Real Housewives and all black casts like Atlanta Housewives and all those ladies are in their 50s or 40s and they’re established and they’re married, but you never get to see young black professionals that are in their late 20s, early 20s, early 30s who are successful.

“We don’t have that in the States on TV.

“So to showcase that and for it to be organic relationships and to show these are the jobs that we do every single day, it’s fun and motivating for young entrepreneurs and young kids to look up to us.”

The cast of Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard includes a realtor, designer and dental assistants to name a few.

“All of us do really unique jobs and hopefully we can inspire the black community and the viewers as well,” Bria said.

The show will see friendships and romances put to the test as the entrepreneurs live together in a luxury mansion.

In the upcoming episode, which airs on Sunday, Bria’s boyfriend Simon Marco makes a surprise arrival at Martha’s Vineyard to support his girlfriend.

Speaking about what viewers can expect, Bria said: ” You’re going to see a lot of friendships be tested. You’ll see our relationship be tested.

“There are people in there that aren’t for dogs and I bring my dog Milo with me.”

She said fans can also look forward to “love, romance, breakups, makeups, maybe marriages might end, who knows?

“So, they are going to see a lot. It’s going to be an emotional rollercoaster.”

Simon said he agreed to appear on the show to support Bria on her journey and admitted appearing on a reality show was “a completely new experience”.

“ I’d never made something like that. I just try to be authentic and not try to be someone else just for people to like me more.

“I just stayed true to myself and support my love,” he said.

Simon added: “I mean, it was a lot inside the show. Sometimes for me, it was like I don’t want to hurt anybody, sometimes it was like being a little bit on eggshells.

“But also myself, I’ve never tried to put another face on it and I wasn’t afraid to show my real self on that show, so I think it did a good job to show us who we really are.”

Teasing the drama in the series, Bria said: “Because everyone gets to see everything and you can’t fake it so, you’ll see a lot of that on the next couple episodes.”

Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard currently airs on Bravo on Sundays at 9/8c. Episodes will be available to stream on Peacock the next day.
