From Lagos to Legacy: How Dr. Olayinka Adegbayi Is Rebuilding Futures Through Finance, Faith, and the Power of Voice

In the bustling heartbeat of Atlanta’s Black community, few voices resonate with the strength, humility, and impact of Dr. Olayinka Adegbayi. A Nigerian-born entrepreneur, financial educator, author, and community leader, Dr. Adegbayi’s story is a testament to resilience, leadership, and the transformative power of using one’s voice to uplift others—a living embodiment of The Atlanta Voice’s mission: “A people without a voice cannot be heard.”
Born in Nigeria and raised with deep-rooted values of education, service, and spiritual integrity, Dr. Adegbayi began her professional journey as a science educator before migrating to the U.S. Her transition wasn’t just geographic—it was generational. With degrees in science, business, and biblical studies, she used every chapter of her life to build a bridge for others. Today, she serves as the President of both New Earth Contracting LLC and Chosen Leadership Development Corporation, organizations grounded in equity, innovation, and purpose.
“I come from a lineage of builders—of both structures and lives,” she shares. “But my greatest construction work is in developing people.” Whether managing multimillion-dollar infrastructure projects for the MTA in New York or mentoring new entrepreneurs in Atlanta, Dr. Adegbayi leads with intention. Her passion for financial literacy birthed her mission of “No Family Left Behind”—a promise she fulfills through her work with World Financial Group and nationwide community seminars.

Like many Black leaders in male-dominated industries, Dr. Adegbayi faced obstacles rooted in bias, access, and underestimation. But she refused to shrink. “Being overlooked became my superpower,” she says. “I learned to walk into rooms knowing I belonged—even when no one else said it aloud.” Her quiet strength now empowers hundreds to believe the same, especially women and minority professionals seeking to thrive in construction, finance, and business development.
Her faith has always been her compass. As a longtime servant-leader in Winners Chapel International, she has chaired audit committees, led community outreach, and created church systems for financial stewardship. “I’ve served in the marketplace and in ministry,” Dr. Adegbayi notes. “Leadership isn’t about a position—it’s about consistent service, wherever you’re planted.”
In 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic shook communities, Dr. Adegbayi doubled down on outreach. Through emergency food and financial literacy drives, she ensured families could find not just aid—but answers. “We didn’t just deliver groceries,” she says. “We delivered tools, strategies, and support so they could build again.” Her citywide initiatives in both New Jersey and Atlanta have since grown into sustainable mentorship pipelines, equipping families with tools for wealth creation, college planning, and retirement security.
As an author, Dr. Adegbayi channels her wisdom into accessible guidance for entrepreneurs and families alike. Her writings explore everything from wealth-building strategies to overcoming spiritual stagnation—always with the goal of educating, empowering, and inspiring. “Books are seeds,” she explains. “And I want mine to grow gardens in households that never knew they could bloom.”
When asked what advice she’d give the next generation of Black leaders, her response is both direct and uplifting: “Don’t just chase a career—answer a calling. Our community doesn’t need more titles; it needs more torchbearers. Be that light.”
Looking ahead, Dr. Adegbayi’s vision is clear: expand her financial literacy programs across Georgia, open training centers for minority contractors, and mentor 1,000 new licensed professionals within the next five years. “Atlanta is more than a city—it’s a canvas,” she says. “And we, as Black leaders, are painting futures with every act of service.”
To the readers of ATL Black Voices Magazine, Dr. Adegbayi offers this final message: “Your voice matters. Your vision matters. Build boldly, lead humbly, and never forget that your story can rewrite someone else’s future.”
